futsal Training
We are excited to introduce a new academy player development initiative for the upcoming season—our inaugural Futsal Training Integration Program.
As part of our commitment to providing the best possible training environment for our players, all U9-U12 Academy teams that train three times per week will have one of their weekly training sessions replaced with a dedicated indoor futsal session. These sessions will be led by a licensed futsal trainer and are designed to complement our outdoor curriculum by developing technical ability, quick decision-making, creativity, and ball mastery in a fast-paced environment.
What to Expect
- One of your team's three weekly training sessions will take place indoors.
- Sessions will be conducted on a true futsal hard court, following official futsal principles and methodology.
- Every Academy team will be assigned a dedicated futsal facility located just off Exit 16 on GA-400.
- Players will continue to train with their regular team while benefiting from specialized futsal instruction.
Required Footwear
Because these sessions take place on an indoor hard court, cleats will not be permitted. Players must wear:
- Futsal-specific shoes (recommended), or
- Flat-soled indoor athletic shoes.
We strongly encourage families to purchase futsal shoes, as they provide the best grip, comfort, and performance on indoor courts.
We believe integrating futsal into our Academy training model will have a significant impact on player development. Many of the world's top players developed their technical skills through futsal, and we are excited to bring this proven training methodology to UFA.
