mental performance training program
Northside/Source Sports Medicine will be providing a Mental Performance Training Program for United Futbol Academy designed to enhance athlete confidence, focus, resilience, and overall performance. This program will be led by Mental Performance Coach, Kiah Sundermeir, and supported by Source Sports Medicine and will include the following:
Athlete Team Sessions U13-U19 ECNL (Fall) and U13-U14 ECNL (Spring)
1 session per team per month
Sessions will focus on:
- Confidence and self-talk
- Focus and performance under pressure
- Resilience and mental toughness
- Goal setting and motivation
- Emotional regulation and stress management
- Team communication, and culture
Parent Education
- 2 total sessions annually (1 Fall, 1 Spring)
- Delivered virtually (1 hour each)
Coach Education
- 4 total sessions annually (2 Fall, 2 Spring)
- Delivered virtually (1 hour each),
- Session customization based on team needs, in coordination with UFA leadership
- Sessions will be in alignment with coaching objectives and seasonal demands
Injured Athlete Support Sessions (Virtual or In-Person)
Northside/Source Sports Medicine will deliver targeted mental performance sessions for injured athletes to support recovery,
confidence, and return-to-play readiness.
Focus Areas May Include:
- Mental response to injury and recovery mindset
- Confidence rebuilding during rehab rehabilitation
- Fear avoid avoidance and return to play readiness
- Maintaining team connection during injury
Participant Selection: Athletes will be identified collaboratively by UFA coaching staff and Provider.
Nature of Services
Mental Performance Coaching is designed to enhance psychological skills for sport and performance. These Services:
- Are not medical care or therapy
- Do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions
- Do not replace licensed psychological or medical services
- If an athlete requires clinical care, appropriate referrals will be recommended.
